January 15 - March 26, 2009 Opening Night January 22nd, 2009 While Ms. Boldt has been a leading artist in the Fort Langley area for decades, her value to the community is reinforced with this exhibit, the first solo show of any living artist in the fifty year history of the Langley Centennial Museum. This exhibit is a collaboration between the artist and the Langley Centennial Museum, and explores her life story through her art, poetry, and inspirations. Barbara Boldt left a war-torn Germany to start a new life in Canada, and part of The Journey will focus on the never-exhibited story of her early years, family background, and the influences that shaped her work. Also included are her widely regarded Earth Patterns, Cape Series, and North and South of the Fraser Landscapes, which reflect the admiration that Ms. Boldt has always had for the natural world around her. Intimate, more personal pieces from the artist's own collection, including works from her Heart Series, can be seen here for the first time, as well as new paintings of Fort Langley places that were important to Ms. Boldt during her Journey. Come and experience the definitive Barbara Boldt Come and experience The Journey Exhibiting at the Langley Centennial Museum.
